For about a year in in the last of our Hawaii time Devon and I enjoyed a polyamorous situation with a good friend, a certain local Coast Guard related friend that we had known for years, a good guy, older, and was ready for his retirement. His wife had passed a few years before, and after we grew... closer, he moved in with us. When he retired a year later we threw a party, a rather quiet one, because... he wanted a way to thank his former subordinates for all the help they had given him for many years, and he wanted to give them a special farewell gift.
