I used to scuba dive. I finally gave up and sold all my gear a couple years ago, when I couldn't find a single person who wasn't too terrified of me to go up to alpine lakes scuba diving with me.
I could always buy more dive gear, but finding a man with the fortitude to even go camping around here, much less a scuba diving trip to some alpine lake is proving to be impossible.
